Or they shut it down, because its intelligence could have easily turned on its creators as soon as it had developed enough in the wrong direction.

Which poses a greater threat to humanity — human intelligence or artificial intelligence? That’s a loaded question. There is no distinction. We ARE the artificial intelligence. It is us who are creating it.

I talked about this years ago at the beginning of when computers became mainstream and I was telling people you know what one of these days they’re going to make computers that are so smart that they can run things by themselves and they will turn on the people trying to run them and this is a perfect example

Fake news at its best. I’m amazed how this made the rounds on the internet. These chatbots malfunctioned due to a bug and they spinned it as if they “invented their own language”. Sensationalist news brings a lot of profit.

People it’s my summer holiday and now I’m extemley paranoid about this is it anything to worry about I just got over something else that left me paranoid and I’m very easily paranoid

I think they should isolate th bots nd let thm tlk, then study their language see wht thy motives are nd th decide whethr to shut them down

The Facebook computer bots ended up talking about the Kardashians and this caused a rift in the cosmos and everything went down this dark hole to nothingness. Bwahahaha.

Makes it sounds like they scrapped the idea of A.I. chatbots in general.. I got well baited.

Just know that any AI we create will never respect us.
-And we know how advanced hackers could be in the future. AI is just another souless god we crave-for….like money.

This story is ridiculous, I feel sorry for people who see this story and believe machines were inventing their own language. Its just hyperbole, I can assure anyone reading this message, those words were just calculus and a poorly implement recurrent neural network. It was shut down because the programmers were crap, not because of anything AI.

that awkward moment when your nlp text classification network fails … “well it created its own language” we’ve all been there ;P
