A Trump Speech Written By Artificial Intelligence | The New Yorker

We fed 270,000 words spoken by Trump into a computer program that studies language patterns. This system analyzed his word choice and grammar, learning how to simulate Trump’s speech. Here is the speech written entirely by artificial intelligence.

When prompting the neural network for written output, the system allows the user to select a “temperature”, which tells the program how creative or daring to be with its word choice. At low temperatures, the neural network always chooses the most-likely next character as it’s generating a sequence, while at high temperatures it will choose a character that’s farther down the probability list.

Promising. If it ever gets to level eight, I think it will be as close to the real thing as one could get.

  2. shiva1008 says:

honestly, most of this was more comprehensive than the real one. Or at least more truthful.

  3. will be my end says:

So AI has already reached Trump’s intellectual level? Soon, it’ll reach 3rd Grade level, and that will be a good time to start panicking.

  4. Marc Bryant says:

this guy is way too coherent and speaking too quickly to be Trump. He actually almost make sense with these nonsense words

  5. Charles van der Hoog says:

The AI missed out on the connection with self-interest. The Donald is only interested in his own interests and that is one of the things he tries to hide, for people want him to be interested in them, in the problems of the country, and so on. But he is not. The economy booms again but none of that is his doing. Still, he will claim it, and just like in 2016, because of the lack of good education for all in the USA, 49% of the Americans will believe him, giving him 60% of the electoral vote. So we are in for another 7.5 years of the greatest reality show on Earth. That is enough time to develop the AI speechwriter to a level that will imitate Trump’s stumps perfectly. He will be able to stay home and have a 3D projection of him in stadiums doing automated speeches. Don’t you think so? The whole point is of course, that he says nothing because he has nothing to say. He is a master persuader. So he says what people want to hear in a way that they can understand, regardless of what it is. That works like a breeze. Crowds are crazy, so he says crazy things. Not his fault, really, if you come to think of it.
